EEA Citizens

Citizens of European Union countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland are entitled to live and work across the entire EEA (European economic area). The registration process is relatively quick and simple. One needs to visit the local camara (council) with proof of activity (such as an employment contract, self-employment details or pension statements), proof of address and a few other things, and the residency certificate is issued on the spot. Non-EU family members (husband/wife and children) who are not EU-citizens are handled by a separate process via SEF (the immigration department).

For those that don't speak Portuguese, it can be a little confusing and daunting.

I can help guide you through the process, accompany you to the various offices and even assist with related tasks such as setting up bank accounts and arranging healthcare. I can also schedule SEF appointments for your non-EU family members, help prepare the paperwork and accompany you and your family to those appointments too.
