Portugal is revising its processes for visas and residence permits in a number of ways, the intention being to speed up the process and reduce bureaucracy.
The main changes are as follows:
- A simplified regime for students who wish to attend professional education courses in Portugal
- A simplified regime for highly qualified entrepreneurial immigrants especially with regard to entrepreneurship and technological fields
- A simplified regime for seasonal workers and those transferred from other EU member states
- A streamlined process for the granting of residence permits for students entering higher education in Portugal.
